Virtual Reality Cinematic Brand Campaign
VIP Worldwide created a ground breaking virtual reality (VR) experience film for Gstaad Palace in Switzerland- one of the most iconic and prestigious resorts in the world.
Gstaad Palace is one of the only family-owned and -operated hotels in Switzerland, and guests are treated like extended members of the family (big-names who have checked in here have included Louis Armstrong, Liz Taylor and Marc Chagall). During World War II, the hotel housed other treasures: owing to its isolated location on the upper mountainside, the Swiss government hid a large portion of the country’s gold reserves in a two-storey bunker at the hotel. Today, this historic space serves as La Fromagerie, with a Champagne truffle fondue, and the terrace of the famous Lobby Bar.
The VR experience takes the viewer to all of the hotel’s highlights, such as the spa, event spaces, outdoor pool and restaurants. It also allows the viewer to experience the thrill of snowboarding in Gstaad and takes the viewer on a virtual decent through the alpine forests.
You can see from the film that VR is an extremely powerful marketing and communication tool and is changing how people travel and make travel decisions. The technology has the ability to take you on virtual journeys in a completely immersive way allowing your guests to be temporarily transported to sample authentic moments, experiences and adventures. Putting guests at the heart of the story is changing the way a guest experiences, interacts and engages within the hospitality and travel industry.
